If you're not quite sure you're ready for college, but want to give it a test-run, there is a new scholarship for you. University College at Rockland announced that they will be awarding a scholarship for students who want to try a college class this coming fall semester.
Officials feel that this taste of college can often be the deciding factor of whether or not a student decides to pursue a college degree, without a long term commitment.
From what I can see, this type of scholarship is only available through University College at Rockland. Applicants must be graduates of high schools in Maine. However, if you are interested in "trying out" a college course, call the College or University of your choice and ask if they have a similar opportunity available.
